President Joe Biden discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday.
The head of the White House welcomed the release of hostages taken by Hamas militants in the last three days, including a four-year-old American girl.
Biden and Netanyahu discussed a pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas, as well as an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Israeli chief of staff expressed his gratitude to President Biden for his efforts to facilitate the conclusion and full implementation of the agreement for the release of the hostages.
Emphasizing that the job is not over, Biden and Netanyahu said they would continue to seek the release of all hostages by maintaining close contact.
