Eight people were killed when the driver of a car allegedly transporting migrants across the border tried to evade police and crashed into an oncoming car on a Texas highway.
The crash occurred Wednesday night when the driver of a Honda Civic attempted to evade Zavala County sheriff’s deputies and pass a truck, the state Department of Public Safety said, but the Honda Civic collided with another car, that caught fire.
All occupants of both vehicles were killed, the department said. They include the 21-year-old driver of a Honda Civic from Houston and his five passengers. Some of the passengers were from Honduras.
