President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden join military personnel and their families Sunday for an event as part of the White House’s Joining Forces initiative.
The Friendsgiving event will take place at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, where the President and First Lady will kick off the week leading up to Thanksgiving.
The president will pardon the Thanksgiving turkey on Monday and travel to Nantucket Island off the coast of Massachusetts on Tuesday, where he will spend the holiday with his family on Thursday.

While in Norfolk, the president will introduce a new film about Willy Wonka to military personnel and their families.
The President and First Lady will then attend a Friendship Day dinner with military families serving on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and USS Gerald R. Ford. Both ships are stationed in the eastern Mediterranean due to tensions caused by the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
