Russian Ministry of Justice contributed the American research organization RAND Corporation to the “undesirable” list. The Attorney General’s Office made a decision on the matter on November 21, but it was not officially announced.
RAND (the name comes from the abbreviation of the words research and development – “study and development”) is a non-profit organization founded in 1948. It was created through the spin-off of Douglas Aircraft Company, a former American aircraft manufacturer, which later merged with Boeing.
According to RAND’s website, the organization “develops solutions to public policy problems to help make communities around the world safer, healthier, and more prosperous.”
It was previously known that the Attorney General’s Office accepted “Undesirable” American organization Russian America for Democracy in Russia at the request of State Duma deputy Andrei Lugovoy.
